Although we are only just starting the second month of the new financial year, it is a good time to revisit the goals you have set for the year to determine if you are on track to achieving those, or if you may need to adjust your path.
Setting specific goals for a year is an important foundation, so that you (and your team) know clearly what you are aiming for. Another critical step is to then break those goals down into actions with specific timeframes. This allows you to review your progress regularly and take action to get back on track when needed.
Checking your progress regularly, such as quarterly or even monthly, may give you a much better chance of succeeding. To take this to another level, you may find that having an independent party that you’re accountable to keeps you even more focused on achieving those goals.
If you haven’t yet set your goals for the year, there is no time like the present to get started. Best of luck with your new year’s goals!
